H.E. Mr. Negash Kebret Botora
Chairperson of the Council Bureau

The current Chairperson of Council Bureau is His Excellency Mr. Negash Kebret Botora. 

Ambassador Negash Kebret Botora is currently the Permanent Representative of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United Nations Office in Geneva and other International Organisations in Switzerland and Vienna, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Switzerland,  Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.  In his almost 40 years of diplomatic service, he worked both in multilateral and bilateral fields promoting Ethiopia's external relations with other countries, regional and international organisations.

Before assuming his current post, His Excellency served in numerous diplomatic postings including as Director general for International Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador and Acting Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador to the State of Israel, Non-Resident Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic of Greece and to the Holy See, and  Chargé d' affaires a.i., (with the Rank of Ambassador) of the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi, India.  He also served in the Ethiopian Permanent Mission in Geneva twice, and in the Ethiopian Embassy in Stockholm.

Mr. Botora holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government Studies from Addis Ababa University (1977) and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Webster University, Switzerland (1986) and Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations from University of Stockholm.  He also holds a French Language Diploma from the Ministry of Education of France.
